Catplay is a kind of  erotic  roleplay within different contexts but mainly BDSM.

Wikipedia mentions the "Catgirl" as a common archetype of catplay:

but Catplay commonly refers to the more BDSM side of it.
In this the Cat commonly is the sub, and the handler is the domme. Cat and handler have kind of Dominance and submission relationship (Ds) with typical elements from the pet world. The cat often dresses up with cat ears tails and fangs and typically bears a collar as a sign that shes "owned" by somebody.

It is in no case denying the human aspect of the partner and normally it is played mostely in a session, but elements of the cat dresses are often weared in normal life as well

In diesem Fall ist die Katze normalerweise in der  Subrolle  und der Sitter ist der Domme. Katze und Sitter haben eine Art Dominance and Submission Beziezhung  (Ds) mit typischen Elementen aus der Tierwelt. Die Katze kleidet sich oft mit Katzenohrenschwänzen und -zähnen und trägt typischerweise ein Halsband,  als ein Zeichen, dass sie  jemandem "gehört.

Auch wenn es ein Rollenspiel ist das mit tierischen Elementen spielt, negiert es auf keinen Fall den menschlichen Aspekt des Partners, wird in der Regel sicher und safe und innerhalb in einer Session gespielt, oft trägt der Sub aber Elemente der Katzenverkleidung auch im normalen Leben.
